Age Group Change - Fall 2026

Starting with the Fall 2026 Season US Youth Soccer and its member leagues and clubs (including Lindehurst Soccer) will be changing the age group formation from birth year to:

August 1 - July 31

How this impacts Lindehurst Soccer:

  • All Intramural Programs will be aligned to meet this change
  • NEW Travel Teams will be aligned to meet this change
  • Impacted Existing Travel Players will have the option to remain on existing teams ("play up") or change teams to play "on age".

The biggest impact is to players born between August 1st and December 31st

Example:

A 2012 (2025 U13) girls team has a player, Jane, who was bon on December 15th 2012. Jane is in 7th grade while most of the other girls on the team are in 8th

For the Fall 2026 season the team will move to U14. Jane can:

  • Stay with her existing team ("play up") or
  • Join the U13 (formally 2013 BY) team

Decisions to remain on a team or switch should be discussed with your coach.
